How to Modify Your InspectorPrime Commercial Master Template
Modifying Your InspectorPrime Commercial Master Template
This article provides a quick overview of how to modify your InspectorPrime commercial master template to suit your reporting style and client needs. It covers customizing sections, adding findings/narratives, and leveraging custom fields and interface pages for efficient report generation.
1. Accessing Your Master Template for Customization To begin modifying your master template, navigate to the "Edit Pages" button (2:18). This allows you to customize the baseline template provided by InspectorPrime to meet your company's specific requirements. The goal is to create a master template that you can easily duplicate for every commercial inspection.
2. Customizing Report Sections and Groups The template is composed of sections and groups (2:31).
Adding/Removing Sections: You can easily add new groups/sections by clicking the "add new group" button (2:31) or remove existing ones. Standard keyboard shortcuts like Ctrl+Z for undoing actions apply (2:36).
Boilerplate vs. Specific Text: You can include boilerplate text (2:58) that is general to all reports (e.g., introductory material, system requirements like ASM or CCPIA standards). For property-specific details, you have two options (5:30-5:51):
Highlighting: Manually bold or italicize text that needs to be updated for each property.
Custom Fields: Integrate pre-built custom fields (6:05, 7:17) to replace plain text. This allows for quick data entry through dropdown menus or simple text inputs, ensuring consistency and ease of use for inspectors. For example, instead of typing "exterior walls are [type]," you can use a "wall covering, exterior wall coverings" field with predefined options (7:10).
3. Managing and Applying Findings/Narratives A core feature of InspectorPrime is the automated population of findings and narratives into your report (8:31). You do not manually type these into the report itself.
Narrative Library: The system comes with a library of approximately 300 commercial inspection narratives, which you can expand with your own (10:28).
Applying Narratives On-Site:
Access the Inspection Dashboard from your inspector portal (9:50). This works on desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile (9:32).
Filter the narrative library by system (e.g., Roof, Electrical) to quickly find relevant narratives (10:50).
Select the desired narratives and link them to the property address (11:05). Applied narratives will move to the top of the list, and marking them "review needed" moves them even higher for easy digestion and report compilation (11:17-11:32).
You can also filter by defect or limitation type (11:41-11:57).
Linking to Equipment Profiles: Narratives can be linked to specific pieces of equipment. For instance, an "exposed wiring" finding can be linked to an "electrical panel" with a specific condition (13:30-14:14). This automatically populates the equipment schedules in your report.
Cost of Cure and Capital Reserves: Every narrative can be tied to the Cost of Cure (immediate needs) and Capital Reserves (longer-term planning) features (14:26).
By filling out a profile for a narrative, the system can automatically generate an AI cost analysis (14:59).
It also accounts for inflation for capital reserve planning over time (15:26).
4. Narrative Views The system offers various views for managing your narratives (15:51-17:24):
Grid View: The default view for organized display.
List View: A simpler, more compact list.
Combined View: A personal favorite of the presenter, allowing for searching and filtering.
Gallery View: Displays narratives with more pictures, suitable for visual organization.
Key Benefits of Customization:
Efficiency: Streamlined workflow, eliminating duplicate effort (17:08).
Accuracy: Ensures consistent reporting based on your company's standards.
Client-Friendly Reports: Produces interactive client portals and simple PDF printouts (12:20, 12:43).
