Summary
Understanding the "Summary” Page
This page is one of the most critical and frequently-used sections of the client portal. Unlike the static "Overview Pages" (like "About Us" or "Our Process"), the Summary is a dynamic, interactive page that provides a concise, actionable list of all defects found during the inspection.
Think of it as the "master list" or "punch list." It extracts every identified defect from the full report and gathers them into one convenient, easy-to-review location.
Key Purpose and Function
The primary goal of this page is to provide a clear and organized summary for clients and agents. It's designed to be easily filtered, sorted, and searched, making it the ideal tool for:
Quickly understanding the overall condition of the property.
Getting a list of all identified issues, from minor to significant.
Helping agents and clients build a repair request list.
Key Features for Your Clients
Defect-Only Focus: This page is designed to show only the defects (items requiring attention, repair, or further evaluation).
Comprehensive List: It details each finding, its location, a description, your recommendation (e.g., "Repair," "Further Evaluation"), and any suggested contractor.
Powerful Filtering: The tabs at the top (e.g., "All Defects," "Significant Defects," "Safety Concerns") allow your clients to instantly narrow the list to see only the most critical items.
Interactive Tools: The page includes tools to Group, Filter, Sort, and Search the findings, allowing users to organize the list in the way that makes the most sense to them.
Customizing the Summary Page for Your Clients
This summary page is highly customizable. You have control over what your clients and agents see, allowing you to tailor the experience to your company's workflow.
In your master template, you can:
Control Navigation Buttons: You can add or remove the buttons that help users navigate to other sections of the report (such as the "View Full Report" button).
Add or Remove Sections: You can customize the page layout by adding or removing entire sections. For example, you could add an introductory text block at the top or remove a section that isn't relevant to your process.
Configure Defect Filters: You can set up which defect categories are available as filters (e.g., "Significant Defects," "Maintenance Items"), ensuring the summary aligns with your reporting style.
This flexibility allows you to create a summary page that presents the exact information you want your clients and agents to focus on.
Crucial: This is a Summary, Not the Full Report
It is essential to understand that this page is a summary of defects and is not a replacement for the Full Inspection Report.
We recommend you always include a button or link to the "View Full Report" and remind clients that the full report contains the complete context, limitations, detailed explanations, and ancillary information essential for a complete understanding of the property's condition.
The "Summary” page is the perfect companion to the full report, providing a powerful, concise, and actionable overview of your findings.
